The route and guide to the town’s heritage we present to you today, like the recent books titled Figueres en primera persona, Figueres insòlita, Els arbres de Figueres and Figueres, arquitectes i història, seek to bring you knowledge and appreciation of Figueres’ heritage and, more importantly, to turn your appreciation of its buildings, streets and plazas, trees and monuments, traditions and customs into elements that bring together and generate the Figueres identity.
With this guide and the information panels we have installed, you will find the route we suggest along La Rambla, Plaça de Josep Pla, Plaça del Doctor Ernest Vila, Plaça del Gra, Plaça de l’Escorxador, Plaça de la Palmera, Carrer Ample i de Maragall, Plaça de les Patates, Torre Galatea, Plaça de Gala Salvador Dalí and Plaça de l’Església to Plaça de l’Ajuntament surprising from all viewpoints and a reason for finding renewed pride in Figueres. Indeed, as the town’s streets, monuments and plazas show and as the literature has tried to portray, Figueres has always focused on its citizens, which means belief in them and the possibility of every dream of freedom and self-realisation being there for all.
